How weeks and trimesters are counted
Week counting starts on the first day of your last period, which is why weeks 1 and 2 come before conception. A due date is that day plus 280 days, so knowing either date gives the other. The calculator counts full weeks and leftover days up to today.

If I am 12 weeks and 3 days, which week am I in?
Niva counts full weeks, so 12 weeks and 3 days shows as week 12. Your care team may say it either way.

Niva counts weeks 1 to 13 as the first trimester, weeks 14 to 27 as the second and weeks 28 to 42 as the third.
Does Niva keep the date I enter?
